Hello from my new FREE iPhone 5 @BestBuy

Have you heard about Best Buy’s iPhone trade in program? I got a FREE iPhone 5.

Yay Best Buy!

Thanks for the even exchange trade in for my iPhone 4 and for price matching my new case with Amazon- almost 50% off. :)

free iPhone 5 trade in from Best Buy

Here is more information and some of the basic rules (you have to be eligible for an upgrade and sign a new contract, your phone has to be working and not cracked, etc. Offer expires soon!) http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2013/06/19/best-buy-free-iphone-trade-in/2439665/

It was pretty busy, so if you know anyone going tell them to go at on “off time” or be prepared to wait a little bit. Worth it.

It was a great deal for me. I was thinking about upgrading anyway. Good timing.

I bought an OtterBox Defender Series Case for the iPhone 5. I had one with my iPhone 4 and loved it – it stood up to the test of A LOT of drops.  See Best Buy for all the details about price matching, but I was told that they only price match if the product is shipped and sold by amazon.com – just a tip!

There really weren’t any hidden fees. I paid $44.45 that included tax and my new Otterbox case (which was originally $49.99) I’d say I got a GREAT deal.  If you don’t buy a case it will probably be less than $15 (for tax.)

p.s. I don’t have any affiliation with Best Buy. I am just excited about my deal!

You’re pregnant, what’s next? {Guest Post}

You’re pregnant, what’s next?

Congratulations! You are pregnant! You are excited and nervous at once. Once you settle down, the next question you probably have is “now what?”

You're pregnant, what's next? getSNAZZY.comStart by scheduling an appointment with your prenatal caregiver. While many women will stay with their gynecologist, some may want to consult with a midwife. A midwife is a health care professional that can provide care to childbearing women during pregnancy, labor and birth, as well as the postpartum timeframe. They also help care for the newborn and can help the new mother with breastfeeding. Talk to your chosen healthcare provider about taking prenatal vitamins and what type of diet you should follow throughout your pregnancy. Many questions will certainly pop up throughout your pregnancy, so it is very important that you are comfortable and confident in your healthcare provider. You should make sure to avoid unhealthy habits, including avoiding the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine. Also, talk to your healthcare provider about any medications you are currently taking and if they should be altered or stopped completely during your pregnancy.

Next, decide when you are going to tell your family and friends. Many families decide to share the news after the first trimester is behind them. Others decide to share the news immediately! Ultimately there is no right or wrong answer and it will be a different decision for each person.

It is important to be ready for all the different changes that will happen to you physically and emotionally. From swollen ankles to emotional changes, understand that it is all normal. If anything develops that is of concern, make sure to consult your health care provider. If you want more information, a great read that has been a solid standby for millions of women during their pregnancy is “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. It can help you better understand what is happening to your body and how to prepare for your baby.

When it comes to shopping for your baby, there are certainly plenty of adorable products available today! One of the best parts of preparing for your newborn is decorating the nursery. Whether you go with a classic style or design around a theme, there are a wide variety of ways to create the perfect nursery. I really like the variety of nursery sets available at Bambi Baby. Make sure to get a nice rocker/glider for you to sit with your baby and bond! Think about sticking with gender-neutral colors, such as a mint green or a soft yellow.

There will certainly be a lot of activity that takes place over the next nine months. Some will be tough and some will be wonderful. Just make sure to enjoy as much of it as you can!

{Free Printable} Simple Teacher Gift – Why God Made Teachers Poem

What does a teacher really want for an end of the year gift? I’m sure they will tell you that anything is lovely, BUT, we opted for this simple poem, gift card (to the movies and Sonic) and a note. In my opinion they have enough plants, lotions, crazy Pinterest teacher crafts and apples!

Note to the teacher from our 3 year old

Our daughter also made a card for each teacher and then I wrote a note based on what she said (she’s 3). I love her!

“My mommy helped me write the words :)

Ms. {Teacher}-

I made a picture for you. I want to be a teacher, an astronaut, explorer, monkey and elephant when I get big. Thanks for playing games with me and teaching me. Your favorite color is green.

Love, C”

p.s. I realize prayer in schools is a touchy subject. We go to a Christian preschool so this was a great gift for us. Also, I would love to link to the original Why God Made Teachers by Kevin William Huff – write a comment below if you know how to give him credit! I saw a copy in our church nursery and loved it so I wrote it down and made this printable.

Why God Made Teachers

by Kevin William Huff

When God created teachers,
He gave us special friends
To help us understand His world
And truly comprehend
The beauty and the wonder
Of everything we see,
And become a better person
With each discovery.

When God created teachers,
He gave us special guides
To show us ways in which to grow
So we can all decide
How to live and how to do
What’s right instead of wrong,
To lead us so that we can lead
And learn how to be strong.

Why God created teachers,
In His wisdom and His grace,
Was to help us learn to make our world
A better, wiser place.

 Spanish Version (rough translation)

¿Por qué Dios hizo a los maestros
Original By Kevin William Huff

Here’s another Teacher Appreciation Thank You Card Idea – http://www.getsnazzy.com/2013/04/thank-you/

Thank You Note – Teacher Appreciation Class Picture

Our preschool teachers loved this thank you card! It’s hard to get everyone in the same picture during the hectic time right before class starts, so we did the next best thing! Individual pictures that spelled out “Thank You” The kids were only 2 so it was a little crazy, but it didn’t matter that some weren’t holding the letters. It made it even cuter and captured the personality of the class!

Things that made this a great Teacher’s Appreciation gift – it’s personalized and not a crazy Pinterest project they won’t use. We also gave the teachers a gift card.

Guest Post: Mother’s Day Gifts for Your “Mom of the Year”

Mother'€™s Day Gifts for Your Mom of the Year @getSNAZZYWhen it is time for Mother’s Day, we all want to get that perfect gift for our mothers, aunts, and grandmothers. We want them to know just how special they are and we want to give them something they will appreciate and know you put thought into the purchase. Something that is great to do is get personalized gifts to show you thought ahead and didn’t just pick up a bouquet of flowers on the way home.

First, you need to get the perfect Mother’s Day card. Instead of getting a standard card from the store, consider making customized Mother’s Day cards for the moms in your life. Shutterfly offers great options to create your own Mother’s Day cards with personal photos. It will be a nice surprise to receive a card with photos of special family members!

To show your love for your mom, The Suzy Shop on Etsy creates unique, signed “3D heart art” that can be customized with special messages right in the piece. You can customize up to four hearts in either red or white with your personal message. This is a great way to have a unique, one of a kind, piece of art made just for the person you love.

Something truly unique is having a Loveprint made for your mom. A Loveprint is a unique process that uses a wax impression of a child’s fingerprint to create a unique piece of jewelry. The Loveprint can be put on a necklace, bracelet, keychain, or ring for that special woman in your life. This is definitely a gift a mom will cherish. As we all know, even as we age, our moms always think of us as their little one. For more details visit Loveprint online.

Free Printable Valentine Cards for Kids {Just Add Sunglasses}

I made these fun Valentine’s Day cards for my daughter’s preschool class. They get enough candy, so I wanted to do something candy free! Last year we made heart crayons.

Just add sunglasses to this FREE printable!

You Brighten My Day! Will you be my Valentine?

Free Valentine Card Printable for Kids - Sunglasses Valentine You Brighten My Day - getSNAZZY

DIY Instructions
1. Buy Sunglasses -  Ours are from Party City. Amazon has a Mega Pack if you need more!

2. Print PDF file.  You probably already have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.

Click here or on the image to open the printable. Then, once opened, either click on the printer button within Acrobat to print the page, or go to the ‘File’ menu and select ‘Print’ or ‘Save As’ and then ‘Print.’ Page 1 of the files has a line for “To: _________ Page 2 is just like the picture above.”

3. Assemble. Punch holes to stick the arms of the sunglasses through. I used a hole punch to make 2 holes (one on top of the other) to stick the arms through the cardstock. Print a practice one so you can get the positioning right for the glasses. I measured 2 cm in from each edge and 4 cm down from the top and punched the holes.

A new favorite: The Small Things Blog

Have you met Kate from The Small Things Blog?

I found her blog last week and love it. She seems so classy and real.  Her style is simple, totally doable and cute! Her hair tutorials are awesome.

I love finding new outfit inspiration and easy to follow tutorials so my hair isn’t always in a ponytail! Check out this tutorial “not just a ponytail” – still a ponytail, but cuter – baby steps for me :)

Check out her 30 in 30 outfits challenge too. http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com

Here’s my version of “not just a ponytail” with straight hair. My hubby immediately noticed that my hair wasn’t just in a plain ponytail – success. Thanks Kate. p.s. My clear elastics are from The Dollar Tree – 500 for $1! I’ll tuck my bobby pin better next time!

We hope this note finds you well as we celebrate this joyous season of Christmas.

While you are here check out my most popular post. See you in 2013!

p.s. We ordered our Christmas cards from Shutterfly – they were 50% off (we ordered the first weekend in December) and had free shipping! I’ve ordered a lot of things from them and always been happy. We got “stationary” cards this year and had our letter printed on the back! Remember to check retailmenot.com for coupon codes before ordering anything online!

p.p.s It’s hard to get a picture of all 4 of us smiling! Do you have your pictures professionally taken? We don’t, but I think it would be fun to do one day! Leave a comment – who is your favorite family photographer?

Looking for deals? I just heard about Save1.com. They provide coupons and special offers from thousands of stores.  Each time a coupon or offer is used, they provide a meal to a child in need. Neat concept! So far they have provided 102,119 meals and counting. (updated 6/2013)
