Give your Marriage a High Five - 5 weekly questions to strengthen your relationship @getSNAZZY

Every week (or day) ask each other these relationship building questions:

1. Little Finger – How did I make you feel loved and appreciated this week?

2. Ring Finger – Say your wedding vows – When will we make time for US {alone} this week?

3. Middle Finger – What is causing you stress? How can I make you feel loved or encouraged?

4. Pointer Finger – What does your week look like? What is the main thing you want to accomplish?

5. Thumbs Up to God – How can I pray for you this week?

Add a 10 second kiss daily. (Not just a peck). Life gets hectic. Nurture your relationship and help it grow. Don’t become roommates!

Grow your Marriage

If you asked me the one thing that has helped our marriage grow it would be this Marriage High FIVE.  We have been married for 8.5 years with two fabulous kiddos. We started asking each other these questions every Sunday night for the past year – we try to get the kids in bed a little early and have time for just us. It has really improved our communication and helped us stay on the same page. Life gets BUSY – especially with kids and we forget to take time to BE with each other. Little issues become big problems and resentment and bitterness if we let things boil up.  It might feel awkward the first week or two, but then it will become natural and deeper and you will feel off if you miss a week!  This year has been one of the BEST for our marriage, here’s to continuing to grow!

Join us? We challenge you to ask these 5 questions weekly AND end it with a high five and a 10-second kiss – or more ;)

p.s. I don’t know the original source of these questions – there are several versions on the internet. I customized them a bit and added the high five aspect – if you know the original of the questions please comment and let me know so I can give credit!

Easy DIY Essential Oil Diffuser Necklace @oilyfamilies @hobbylobbystores

I made my first essential oil diffuser necklace today! So easy and inexpensive too (mine was less than $10.)

Style and wellness in one – perfect.

DIY Essential Oil Diffuser Necklace @getSNAZZY @OilyFamilies @HobbyLobbyStore

Pieces to buy to make your own DIY Diffuser Necklace:

1. Diffuser Pendant (on the jewelry aisle – they were on the bottom row at our store)

2. Necklace Chain

3. Felt (add 1-3 drops of essential oil and put in the pendant)

4. Jump Rings (1 or 2 to attach the pendant and charms to the chain)

5. Optional – extra charm – I added a key charm to mine

6. Tiny pliers or jewelry tool to tighten the jump ring

7. Young Living Essential Oil (1-3 drops lasts a day)

It was super easy, just pick where on the chain you want to add your pendant. Loosen a jump ring and thread it through so it attaches to the chain and pendant. Tighten with the jewelry pliers. Add a charm if you want by attaching with another jump ring (I used the 9mm size, smaller would be ok too)

Cut a piece of felt so it is small enough to fit in the diffuser locket. Then add 1-3 drops of Young Living Essential Oil to the felt pad. Close the pendant and you are all set!

Now you are ready to wear your stylish and helpful diffuser necklace! (I put peppermint oil in mine – perfect for our road trip – it helps with headaches and motion sickness so I can read in the car!)  I packed a few extra felt pads so I can switch to other oils. JOY and is another one of my favorites!

** Most of the supplies were 50% off at Hobby Lobby this week! You can also use a Hobby Lobby 40% coupon on one regular priced item, just bring it up on your phone. I was not paid by Hobby Lobby to write this post – although that would be awesome, because I often want to buy the whole store!

{Free Printable} Lavender Sugar Scrub – Easy DIY Gift

Handmade with Love – DIY Lavender Essential Oil Sugar Scrub

{FREE Printable}

You can right click and SAVE AS on the image above or click here to download the YLEO Lavender Sugar Scrub Tag – PDF.-  I printed one page on cardstock then cut them out, hole punched the labels and tied them to the mason jars with twine.

Need a last minute gift? You might have all of these ingredients at home if you already love essential oils!

Ingredients to make Essential Oil Sugar Scrub

1. 1 Cup White Sugar

2. About 1 Cup Organic Coconut Oil (liquid or slightly melted – melting point is 76 degrees, so just warm it slightly)

3. 8-10 Young Living Lavender Essential Oil

4. Mason Jar or other cute container (I bought 1 pint jars at Target for about $4 – so this recipe made 2 jars worth)

5. Label with twine or ribbon

How to make DIY Sugar Scrub

Put sugar in a bowl. Slowly add melted coconut oil and stir until it is a paste-like consistency. (I added about 3/4 cup of coconut oil to 1 cup of sugar.)  Then add 8-10 drops of pure Young Living Essential Oil. I chose lavender. Stir. I’ve also made peppermint sugar scrub!  Scoop mixture into decorative container then close lid and attach label with sticker or ribbon.

Directions to Sugar Scrub

Massage a generous amount on hands and feet. Soak for a few minutes then rinse with warm water. Enjoy!

This is a very inexpensive gift – I bought a huge tub of coconut oil at Costco, sugar at the Dollar Tree, a few drops of essential oil costs pennies – learn more about becoming a Young Living Essential Oil wholesale member here.

This year Sugar Scrubs will be part of our teacher appreciation gifts and Mother’s Day gifts.

Happy Gift Giving!
