You’re pregnant, what’s next? {Guest Post}

You’re pregnant, what’s next?

Congratulations! You are pregnant! You are excited and nervous at once. Once you settle down, the next question you probably have is “now what?”

You're pregnant, what's next? getSNAZZY.comStart by scheduling an appointment with your prenatal caregiver. While many women will stay with their gynecologist, some may want to consult with a midwife. A midwife is a health care professional that can provide care to childbearing women during pregnancy, labor and birth, as well as the postpartum timeframe. They also help care for the newborn and can help the new mother with breastfeeding. Talk to your chosen healthcare provider about taking prenatal vitamins and what type of diet you should follow throughout your pregnancy. Many questions will certainly pop up throughout your pregnancy, so it is very important that you are comfortable and confident in your healthcare provider. You should make sure to avoid unhealthy habits, including avoiding the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine. Also, talk to your healthcare provider about any medications you are currently taking and if they should be altered or stopped completely during your pregnancy.

Next, decide when you are going to tell your family and friends. Many families decide to share the news after the first trimester is behind them. Others decide to share the news immediately! Ultimately there is no right or wrong answer and it will be a different decision for each person.

It is important to be ready for all the different changes that will happen to you physically and emotionally. From swollen ankles to emotional changes, understand that it is all normal. If anything develops that is of concern, make sure to consult your health care provider. If you want more information, a great read that has been a solid standby for millions of women during their pregnancy is “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. It can help you better understand what is happening to your body and how to prepare for your baby.

When it comes to shopping for your baby, there are certainly plenty of adorable products available today! One of the best parts of preparing for your newborn is decorating the nursery. Whether you go with a classic style or design around a theme, there are a wide variety of ways to create the perfect nursery. I really like the variety of nursery sets available at Bambi Baby. Make sure to get a nice rocker/glider for you to sit with your baby and bond! Think about sticking with gender-neutral colors, such as a mint green or a soft yellow.

There will certainly be a lot of activity that takes place over the next nine months. Some will be tough and some will be wonderful. Just make sure to enjoy as much of it as you can!

{Free Printable} Simple Teacher Gift – Why God Made Teachers Poem

What does a teacher really want for an end of the year gift? I’m sure they will tell you that anything is lovely, BUT, we opted for this simple poem, gift card (to the movies and Sonic) and a note. In my opinion they have enough plants, lotions, crazy Pinterest teacher crafts and apples!

Note to the teacher from our 3 year old

Our daughter also made a card for each teacher and then I wrote a note based on what she said (she’s 3). I love her!

“My mommy helped me write the words :)

Ms. {Teacher}-

I made a picture for you. I want to be a teacher, an astronaut, explorer, monkey and elephant when I get big. Thanks for playing games with me and teaching me. Your favorite color is green.

Love, C”

p.s. I realize prayer in schools is a touchy subject. We go to a Christian preschool so this was a great gift for us. Also, I would love to link to the original Why God Made Teachers by Kevin William Huff – write a comment below if you know how to give him credit! I saw a copy in our church nursery and loved it so I wrote it down and made this printable.

Why God Made Teachers

by Kevin William Huff

When God created teachers,
He gave us special friends
To help us understand His world
And truly comprehend
The beauty and the wonder
Of everything we see,
And become a better person
With each discovery.

When God created teachers,
He gave us special guides
To show us ways in which to grow
So we can all decide
How to live and how to do
What’s right instead of wrong,
To lead us so that we can lead
And learn how to be strong.

Why God created teachers,
In His wisdom and His grace,
Was to help us learn to make our world
A better, wiser place.

 Spanish Version (rough translation)

¿Por qué Dios hizo a los maestros
Original By Kevin William Huff

Here’s another Teacher Appreciation Thank You Card Idea – http://www.getsnazzy.com/2013/04/thank-you/

Thank You Note – Teacher Appreciation Class Picture

Our preschool teachers loved this thank you card! It’s hard to get everyone in the same picture during the hectic time right before class starts, so we did the next best thing! Individual pictures that spelled out “Thank You” The kids were only 2 so it was a little crazy, but it didn’t matter that some weren’t holding the letters. It made it even cuter and captured the personality of the class!

Things that made this a great Teacher’s Appreciation gift – it’s personalized and not a crazy Pinterest project they won’t use. We also gave the teachers a gift card.

Free Printable Valentine Cards for Kids {Just Add Sunglasses}

I made these fun Valentine’s Day cards for my daughter’s preschool class. They get enough candy, so I wanted to do something candy free! Last year we made heart crayons.

Just add sunglasses to this FREE printable!

You Brighten My Day! Will you be my Valentine?

Free Valentine Card Printable for Kids - Sunglasses Valentine You Brighten My Day - getSNAZZY

DIY Instructions
1. Buy Sunglasses -  Ours are from Party City. Amazon has a Mega Pack if you need more!

2. Print PDF file.  You probably already have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.

Click here or on the image to open the printable. Then, once opened, either click on the printer button within Acrobat to print the page, or go to the ‘File’ menu and select ‘Print’ or ‘Save As’ and then ‘Print.’ Page 1 of the files has a line for “To: _________ Page 2 is just like the picture above.”

3. Assemble. Punch holes to stick the arms of the sunglasses through. I used a hole punch to make 2 holes (one on top of the other) to stick the arms through the cardstock. Print a practice one so you can get the positioning right for the glasses. I measured 2 cm in from each edge and 4 cm down from the top and punched the holes.
